Finally a writerly post

Okay sorry I've been dreadful about writing about writing lately. I got kinda wrapped up in AJ.

So here it goes. Can you paint with words? Are pictures stronger than words?

As a writer I strongly believe words can paint a picture more than even a picture can.

Paul Harvey was one that also believed this. I'm going to miss him. He's been giving me the "Real Story" since I was born. I cried when I heard the news that he had died.

    Interesting.

I think words can paint, but not as fast as a picture can. With a picture, much of it is taken in in the initial glance.

On the other hand, it's not pictures I remember so well as the words I've read.

Yes, I think words can paint more of a picture than even a picture can - because I think a reader almost becomes more involved. I'm sure there are exceptions.

Dani has a point, though. I don't think words can paint a picture as FAST as a picture can.

Happy to see you writing about writing!

OH no! I didn't know Harvey had died. That's so weird. I try to paint a picture. Heck, I try to stick the reader right in the scene, so they're not just looking at stuff, but smelling and feeling it too.
    Don't know if I've succeeded, but I've tried. :-)
    Nice post.
